Super Summer(y)

Nothing, not even the heat, could get in the way of our super Claritas writers this summer! In particular, Zachary Lee and Brandon Daniels held a consistent theme of superhero stories in various articles for outside publications, including The Daily Fandom, Covenant Companion and The Cornell Daily Sun. And, a number held Gospel themes pointing to Jesus as the ultimate savior. Coincidence? I think not!

Here is a summary of their work over summer:

  • Brandon Daniels wrote a great review of Marvel’s newest Iron Man comic Tony Stark: Iron Man #1, critiquing its story, dialogue and artwork.

  • Zachary Lee explored theological themes raised in Pixar’s Incredibles 2, specifically what proper worship should look like, in his article Incredible Worship.

  • Zachary also caught subtle but important points in his article, "Ant-Man and the Wasp aims small but hits big."

Through Brandon and Zachary’s thoughtful analysis and convicting prose, they prove that the superhero genre is not just merely entertainment but can be an arena to ask deeper and more profound questions. We look forward to more of their incredible work in the coming school year!
